Defending champion University of Sto. Tomas and Bulacan State University, both 2-0, will now have to fight it out for the remaining semifinals berths in Group A. BSU won twice also Thursday, defeating University of Cordillera, 7-0, and Benguet, 11-0.

In Group B, University of the Philippines will have to contend with Laguna for the last semis berth. UP beat Polytechnic University of the Philippines, 6-3, to improve its record to 2-1. Laguna has a 1-0 slate after its 15-0 victory over BESAO.

In men’s action, Marikina streaked to its third straight win in Group A after rolling to a 14-6 win against Zamboanga, which beat La Trinidad earlier in the day, 12-0.

The other men’s group has Philippine Air Force and Cavite City occupying the  top spot with similar 3-0 records. PAF made short work of Bulacan State  University (BSU), 12-2, while Cavite City shut out Benguet, 10-0.

Baguio City still has a chance to make it to the next round after registering a 16-1 win against Bibak for a 2-1 record.

To make sure that the competitions are balanced, members of both the Blu Boys and the Blu Girls were distributed  evenly among  the competing teams, according to ASAPHIL’s Jun Veloso.
