LEGAZPI CITY – Two policemen are recuperating in a local hospital after they were wounded in an ambush staged by communist rebels in Uson, Masbate alst Monday. Philippine National Police regional office spokesman Senior Supt. Eliciar Bron said POl Ronnel Rodriguez sustained a bullet wound in the leg while POl Michael Saujo was injured in the eye. Philippine Army spokesman Major Harold Cabunoc said the ambush on members of the Public Safety Management Company (formerly PNP Mobile Group) was part of the communist rebels’ strategy to sow fear in the province. |
