LIPA City – Former Batangas Gov. Armand Sanchez yesterday vowed to help ensure a clean and honest election based on what he called “inborn patriotism and integrity of Batangueños.”

Sanchez made the vow during the signing of a Poll Peace Covenant by all Batangas candidates at the Lipa City Cathedral which was initiated by Lipa City Archbishop Ramon Arguelles.

Seeking to regain his old gubernatorial seat, Sanchez said, “Let’s wage an issue-oriented campaign. Let there be a healthy clash of ideas and let the superior ideas prevail. This should be the conduct of a politically mature electorate. Let Batangas lead the way.”

The former governor said the province must be rescued from the pit of deterioration engendered by inept governance.

Bishop Arguelles urged the electorate to choose their candidates well.
