Officials of the Caloocan City Jail (CCJ) yesterday belied allegations that they allow prostitutes inside their facility to cater sex for moneyed inmates in exchange for the so-called “commission and contract fees.”
According to a CCJ official who requested anonymity, the allegations are baseless and only intend to malign them in public.
“Our warden, Supt. Baby Noel Montalvo, will not tolerate such wrongdoing. He will not allow anybody to use his or her position in CCJ just to earn money. Those spreading malicious stories about us are up to something,” he said.
The CCJ official reacted to allegations that sex workers or prostitutes are free to enter their premises and have sex with moneyed detainees.
The jail guards allegedly contact pimps for the sex workers who charge P1,000 each for their services. The CCJ allegedly gets commission or contract fees from the pimps.
The CCJ stressed these are clearly orchestrated by some unseen hands with ill motives.
“Maganda ang programa natin dito dahil preoccupied ang mga detainees natin sa Bible study, livelihood projects at sport activities. Kami ba naman ang magiging dahilan ng pagkalat ng mga sexually-transmitted diseases, imposible ang sex trade rito,” the official added.
He insisted that only the wives of the inmates are authorized to spend intimate moments with their prisoner husbands as part of their conjugal visits.
Presently, the CCJ houses 1,402 inmates. The facility is ideal only for 600 inmates.
