A LANDSLIDE triggered by heavy rains crushed a house in Banaue, Ifugao Wednesday afternoon, killing a six-year-old boy and injuring his younger brother and grandparents.

Cordillera police director Chief Supt. Villamor Bumanglag, Jr. said the slope of the mountain just above the victims’ house in Patilong, Viewpoint eroded.

Killed was Jayson Ganggangan, a Grade 1 student at the Patilong Elementary School. Wounded were his grandfather Dadaan, 70, grandmother Isabel, 67, and brother Jayjay, 4.

Bumanglag said the victims were taken to the Good News Clinic where Jayson was pronounced dead on arrival. The three other victims were already in good condition yesterday.
