A BUSINESSMAN who was accosted at the NAIA Terminal 2 for bringing shabu decided to eliminate the evidence against him by attempting to swallow it.
Enrico del Rosario Aldaba, 51, of Sto. Rosario, Malolos, Bulacan, was about to board a Philippine Airlines flight to Palawan along with his wife Baby when airport authorities had him arrested.
According to Supt. Al Abner Wahab Santos, chief of the Aviation security Group, the drug was found following a routine security check done on the suspect wherein the walk-through metal detector sounded off as he passed through it.
Even before he could be frisked, Aldaba allegedly got angry, took out something from his pocket and then put it into his mouth, apparently to swallow it.
Alert personnel under Santos however, managed to recover the item which turned out to be .03 gram of shabu in a small plastic.
Aldaba admitted using shabu and told authorities he got nervous upon remembering that he had shabu in his pocket.
Appropriate charges will be filed against him before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
