Chief Acosta was promoted to a rank that is equivalent to a department secretary, as provided under Section 5 of Executive Order No. 508, entitled, “Instituting the Lingkod Bayan Award as the Presidential Award for Outstanding Public Service”, dated March 2, 1992, issued by the late former President Corazon C. Aquino.

Out of the 61.09 percent favorable dispositions involving CICLs, the top three regions which obtained the highest rates are the Calabarzon Region with 31.90 percent, NCR with 29. 59 percent and Central Luzon with 13.27 percent.
The PAO Central Office’s legal and medical jail visitation and decongestion program benefited total of 9,094.
There were 5,179 inmates released, 5,214 beneficiaries in medical assistance and 3.447 beneficiaries in legal assistance.
The PAO head pledged to support and push the rule of law, access to justice and governance framework, strategies and principles of President Aquino‘s Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016.
The PAO has managed to handle total of 680,858 cases in courts nationwide and other legal services such as counseling, documentation, jail visitation, administration of oaths, mediation, and conciliation which involve 5,835,027 clients.
These means that every public attorney handled average of 470 cases and rendered assistance to an average of 3,806 clients for the same period.
