TIYAK na mismong si late Philippine cinema legend Fernando Poe Jr. o Da King ay napahanga ni National Artist at Komiks King Carlo J.Caparas sa kanyang sorpresa kay MTRCB Chairperson Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares at multi-awarded actress Susan Roces sa kanyang alay sa una kaugnay ng Panday series na certified box-office hit sa 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival  (MMFF).

Inihayag ni Ms. Poe- Llamanzares na ang sorpresang ink and canvas painting ni Direk Carlo J. na iniregalo sa kanila ni Ms. Susan Roces sa kasagsagan ng pagpapalabas ng “Panday 2” sa mga sinehan ay idi-display mismo sa archive museum ni FPJ.

Tiyak na kung saan man naroroon si FPJ ay nakangiti ito sa pagpupugay sa kanya ni Direk Carlo J sa pamamagitan ng isang “breath-taking” ink and canvas painting.

Ang “ink and canvas” ang medium na ginamit  ng National Artist sa pagguhit sa kanyang obra . Ang tema ng “very precious” at “priceless” na obra ni Carlo J. ay “si Panday at ang mga Sakada”. Ang sakada ang isa sa mga pinakaaping manggagawa sa bansa. Hahangaan mo ang matiyaga at “realistic” na  paghimay ni Carlo J. sa bawat detalye sa kanyang drawing na mistulang buhay na buhay dahil sa mala 3D dimension nito.

Inilahad pa ni Direk Carlo J. na si Panday ang magtatanggol sa kaapihan ng mga sakada  dahil sa  ang imahe ni Flavio, bida ng Panday, ay tagapagtanggol ng mga naaapi.

“Tunay na karakter  ni FPJ sa tunay na buhay si Flavio,” paliwanag pa ni Carlo J.

Meanwhile, seryoso si MTRCB chairPoe-Llamanzares sa isinusulong niyang reporma sa kanyang ahensiya sa ilalim ng Office of the President. Kabilang dito ang “audience empowerment” at “self- regulation” sa mga stakeholders na dapat ay mag-respond sa bagong pagkagiliw ng mga manonood sa local films. Of course, we should not forget our responsibility to further enhance and protecting  children’s rights as per Poe-Llamanzares’ thoughts.

Reporma din ni Ms. Poe-Llamanzares ang  fresh design ng high tech na MTRCB deputy ID cards na dapat ay gamitin ng mga cardholders with full responsibility and seriousness, na ibig sabihin ay dapat na mag-report sila annually sa kanilang napapanood at nasasaksihan sa telebisyon at sinehan na violations sa PD 1986 na lumikha sa MTRCB .

Belated spoof natin sa newsmaker highlights ng 2011 bilang pagsulabong natin sa Year of Water Dragon sa Jan. 23 na Chinese New Year at naideklara ni P-Noy na isang regular non-working holiday batay sa Presidential Proclamation No. 295.

The joint celebration will manifest our solidarity with our Chinese-Filipino brethren -- 1.5 million of them,  who have been part of our lives in many respects as a country and as a people. Nonetheless, Chinese influence is pervasive in the Philippines and wield power in business and finance.

P-Noy is also our Best Performance of a Dramatic Artist with his bold “attack” and tirades versus Chief Justice Renato Corona   at the First National Criminal Justice  Summit at Manila Hotel. Certainly no ghost protocol mission... hehehe.

By the way, Aquino, Corona, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and Speaker Sonny Belmonte are four Rats while Vice President Jejomar Binay is one born under the Horse sign.

Of course, the arrest of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is a dramatic  act such that the former leader of the land is our Best Performance of A Female Artist with her airport scene.

But P-Noy is the Year’s  Top Newsmaker in our books.

Best Dramatic Actress though is Ramona Bautista. Best Drama for a Legal Story is Justice Chief Leila De Lima. A citation is given to the resignation of Sen. Miguel Zubiri for the Best Dramatic Story. Arroyo’s soap opera is the year’s Best Picture. But the Best Comedy Performance of a Male Artist  is no other than Supreme Court spokesman Midas Marquez with his “microphone act”.The Impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona is the Most Promising Soap Opera of the Year. Posthumous award is for  late defense chief Angelo Reyes, while lawyer Atty. Ferdie Topacio is the year’s Best Comedian with his family jewels remarks. Lifetime Achievement award is former President Fidel V. Ramos while Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago is the Best Pick Up Lines Artist of the Year.Best Surprising Talent and Best Live Performance of the Year is  Assistant Health Secretary Dr. Eric Tayag’s  dance moves to the groove of the beat of Maroon 5’s and Christina Aguillera’s “Moves like Jagger” in his PR stunt against the use of firecrackers.

Tayag showed off his dancing skills during 6th Bi-regional Scientific Conference held in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia recently. Seriously, Chief Public Attorney Persida V. Rueda Acosta is our Darling of the Press of the Year in our books.
