‘Panindigan ang pahayag na walang toll hike’


UMAASA ang commuter group na hindi lang “pogi” points o press releases ang ginawang pahayag ng Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) na walang mangyayaring toll hike hanggang sumapit ang taong 2012.

Hinamon ni Ysabel Nabong, spokesperson ng Public Commuters Motorists  Alliance (PCMA), si TRB spokesman Julius Corpuz na panindigan nito ang kanyang pahayag at huwag linlangin ang taongbayan lalo na ang mga public commuters.

Hinamon pa ni Nabong si Corpuz at ang leadership ng TRB na gawing transparent ang gagawing nitong public consultation sa susunod na buwan kaugnay sa petition of toll hike na isinampa ng tatlong toll management (Subic-Clark-Tarlac-Manila-Cavite-Toll Expressway Project-Southern Tagalog Arteria Road) sa kanilang tanggapan.

Idiniin ni Nabong na tiyak na mga end users (commuters) ang magpapasan ng panibagong kalbaryong ito oras na payagan ng TRB na itaas ang toll fees sa tatlong expressways ng bansa.

Kinalampag naman ni Nabong ang administrasyong Aquino at si Transportation and Communications Secretary Mar Roxas, na dapat isipin ang kapakanan ng publiko lalo na ang mga ordinaryong commuters na umaasa lamang sa mga public utility vehicles tulad ng jeep, taxi, bus, fx, at auv na gumagamit ng mga expressway ng bansa.

Nauna rito, inihayag ni Corpuz sa isang press conference na walang mangyayaring toll hikes hanggang sumapit ang January 1, 2012.

Ayon kay Corpuz sa information sheet ng petition of toll hikes na isinampa sa kanilang opisina, ang 94-kilometrong SCTEx ay tataas sa P324 mula sa P272 ang singil sa toll para sa mga Class 1 na sasakyan; mula P543 ay magiging P648 ang singil para sa mga Class 2; at papalo ng P972 mula P815 para sa mga Class 3.

Ang R-1 Expressway ng MCTEP ay humihingi ng dagdag na singil na P29 mula sa dating P24 para Class 1; P58 mula P48 para sa Class 2; at P86 mula sa P72, Class 3.

Samantala, sa hiling naman ng 42-km STAR, ang mga Class 1 ay sisingilin ng P64, mula sa datingP60; Class 2, P129 mula sa P120; at Class 3, P193 mula sa P179.
