CAMP Macabulos, Tarlac City -- To boost the morale of his subordinates, Tarlac police director Senior Supt. Alfred Corpus began to fulfill his promise about the incentive he has to give especially on the campaign against illegal firearms, drugs and wanted persons.
During the Monday flag raising here, Bamban Police Station head Chief Insp. Pascual de los Reyes received P11,000 reward for confiscating two firearms and apprehending an illegal drug personality during an encounter in Bgy, Panaisan last week.
In Camiling town, joint elements of the Provincial Intelligence Branch led by Supt. Bayani Razalan and Criminal Investigation and Detection Team led by Chief Insp. Richard Caballero seized three caliber pistols and ammunition after implementing a search warrant issued by Judge Alipio C. Yumul of RTC Branch 66 in Capas, Tarlac. Their rewards would be given next Monday, according to Corpus.
Last Sunday, the Gerona police were able to confiscate a Taurus 9mm pistol from two suspects about to assassinate a councilor of Sta. Maria, Pangasinan.
Corpus said that for every firearm confiscated with a corresponding case filed in court, P5,000 awaits as reward while P1,000 is at stake for every person held for illegal drugs activity with also a case filed in court.
In the case of wanted person, Corpus will give P20,000 reward for the top most wanted down to P2,000 for top 10 most wanted. George Hubierna
