Teener stabbed dead, sister hurt


STA. Maria, Bulacan -- A teenage girl was stabbed dead while her sister was  seriously wounded in Sitio Pisang, Bgy. San Jose Patag, here, at dawn Saturday.

A report to Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Fernando Mendez Jr. identified the fatality as Roselle Estellero, 16, single. Wounded was her sister Roseanne, 17, single, both of 1231 Sitio Pisang, Bgy. San Jose Patag, Sta. Maria.

Mendez identified the suspect as Roby dela Torre, 61, single, construction worker, of 337  Sitio Gulod II, Bgy. San Jose Patag.

Investigators led by Supt. Raniel Valones said that the suspect went to the victims’ residence to confront Roselle, his alleged girlfriend, about a man whom she had a secret love affair.

A heated argument ensued between the two when the suspect stabbed the victim several times, causing her instantaneous death.

The incident was witnessed by victim’s sister, who was also stabbed by the suspect in the right leg.

Responding barangay tanods found Roseanne unconscious at the basketball court and rushed her to the Rogaciano Mercado Hospital. The suspect hurriedly fled.

A follow-up operation by the operatives resulted in the arrest of the suspect in Sitio Lupang Pangarap, Bgy. San Jose Patag, SJDM City. 

Recovered at the scene was a kitchen knife used by the suspect. 

The victim’s body was brought to Our Lady of Peace Funeral Homes for autopsy. Charges are being prepared against the suspect.
