Sa report ng The Star, ang 30-anyos na Pilipino ay natagpuang naliligo sa sarili niyang dugo. Pinaniniwalaang sinaksak niya ang kanyang sarili. Sinabi rin sa report na walang ebidensiya na nagpapakitang nagkaroon ng kaguluhan sa loob ng kuwarto ng nagpatiwakal.
Samantala, sinabi naman ng Department of Foreign Affairs na wala pa silang natatanggap na balita ukol dito. Ayon sa The Star, ang Pinoy na manggagawa ay malamang na nagpakamatay 2:30 p.m. noong Sabado.
Ayon sa report, isinugod pa ang ’di pa nakikilalang Pilipino sa Miri Hospital. Ngunit binawian pa rin siya ng buhay dahil sa pagkawala ng dugo at dami ng saksak.
