THE Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Pasig City) has formed a task force designated to inspect all commercial establishments in the city.

Pasig City Fire Marshal, Supt.  Arturo Marcos said the task force  will conduct intensive inspections to ensure compliance by all establishments to the Fire Code Law.
The BFP consider as high risk to fire incidents during the Yuletide season firecracker warehouses and factories, hospitals, schools and malls because of their higher electricity consumption.
Pasig City has around 26,000 commercial establishments.
Marcos said they  need additional personnel to augment 113 fire personnel in Pasig to inspect buildings, conduct lectures and seminars on fire safety, and drive fire trucks.
“Kailangan kasi ’yung 100 percent compliance sa inspection sa mga commercial establishment para masiguro na sumusunod sila sa Fire Code at maiwasan ’yung mga sunog lalo na ngayong papalapit ang Holiday season,” Marcos said in an interview.
The BFP-Pasig City will also  speed up the issuance of Fire Safety Inspection Certificates (FSIC) in order to avoid  long lines and under the table transactions.
