TEN wanted person were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in a string of anti-crime operations in the countryside over the past four days which also resulted in the seizure of a cache of weapons and drugs worth more than P1 million, PNP-CIDG director, Chief Superintendent Roel B. Obusan announced yesterday.
One of the suspects identified as Romel Adorable was arrested in his hiding place in Purok 1, Barangay Poblacion, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley by local CIDG and police operatives on the strength of a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder. The suspect was described as the 10th most wanted person in Nabunturan.
In Bgy. Kayquit in Indang, Cavite, combined CIDG and Cavite police operatives raided the house of Danilo Sudario and arrested him while in possession of a caliber .22 rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun and assorted live ammunition.
In Naga City in Camarines Sur, CIDG and Naga City Police Office operatives arrested Edilberto Sta. Ana alias ‘Rodel’ and Winston Padilla alias ‘Ton’ after they conspired to sell drugs to an undercover officer in Zone 6, Bgy. Peñafrancia last Saturday.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were eight heat-sealed plastic sachets containing more than P40,000 worth of shabu and the marked money handed to them by the officer.
Also last Saturday, more than P600,000 worth of shabu as well as assorted guns and explosives were confiscated by the local CIDG from six men identified as as Noaim Radiab, Adbulwajid Radiab, Marogong Radiab, Madrigal Langitao and Aisah Langitao.
Combined officers from the CIDG, the Army and the Tubod Municipal Police Station arrested the two while serving two search warrants fo violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the suspects in Purok 2, Bgy. Barangdia in Salvador, Lanao del Norte.
Confiscated from the suspects were five M-16 Armalite rifles, a grenade launcher, one rifle grenade, a calibre .9MM pistol, two cal. 45 pistols, assorted magazines and ammunition, two rifle scopes, a hand guard, and a bipod.
The suspects are now facing charges for violations of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 and RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).
In Malaybalay City in Bukidnon, CIG operatives seized around nine kilograms of dried marijuana bricks worth P300,000 during an operation in Kilometer 25 in Bgy. Silaeo last Sunday. The trafficker of the cannabis identified s Mansagabaw Manlangit alias ‘Jigger’ eluded arrest and is still being hunted.
