A 42-year-old former policeman-turned-drug dealer was arrested by combined agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Police Regional Office 7 in an entrapment operation in Tagbilaran City in Bohol last Monday, PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña announced yesterday.

Lapeña identified the suspect as ex-policeman Tharek Teopisto Maralit Cabagnot III, of Purok 7, Mansasa, Tagbilaran City.
The official said that members of the PDEA Regional Office 7 and the Tagbilaran City Police Station arrested the suspect after he sold P600 worth of shabu to an undercover officer in Dampas District at 12:20 p.m. Monday.
Recovered from Cabagnot were two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a mobile phone and the marked money he received from the poseur.
The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
