AN unidentified drug suspect was killed while his companion escaped and another was arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Laguna and Aurora.
The slain suspect was killed in an encounter with police in Sitio Asana 2, Bgy. Bgy. Santissima Cruz, Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Thursday night.
A report to acting Laguna police director Senior Supt. Joel Pernito by Supt. Norman Tabaldo Ranon, Sta. Cruz police chief, said the unidentified fatality, wearing white T-shirt and grey short pants, was pronounced dead on arrival at Laguna Medical Center in Sta. Cruz due to serious gunshot wounds in the body.
Police identified the suspect who escaped on a motorcycle at 9:30 p.m. as Jeffrey Arsanique, alias Jeff, of Magdalena, Laguna. He is now the object of a police manhunt.
Recovered at the crime scene were a plastic sachet of suspected shabu and a cal. .38 revolver. In Aurora, police yesterday announced the arrest of a notorious drug pusher during a drug-bust operation last Wednesday in Baler.
Police identified the suspect as Christian Gabral, of Purok 4, Bgy. Zarah, San Luis town, who was nabbed at the Baler Public Transport Terminal.
Gabral’s arrest came hours after Senior Insp. Emilio B. Sison, Baler chief of police, disguised as a user and texted the former that he would buy shabu worth P2,000.
Police recovered from the suspect a plastic sachet of shabu, four marked P500 bills and shabu paraphernalia.
Gabral said he bought the shabu for P1,500 per sachet from alias Tong in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, and pass it for P2,000 per sachet.
He also admitted that his supplier owns a club in Nueva Ecija and that partygoers are his clients.
Charges of violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (delivery of shabu), drug selling, use and possession of drugs were filed against the suspect before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Gabral was detained at the provincial jail in Baler.
In Casiguran town, meanwhile, a 32-year-old man was shot dead by riding-in-tandem gunmen in Purok 6, Bgy. Bionan, the other day.
Senior Insp. Camilo Maling Jr., Casiguran chief of police, identified the victim as Alex Tevar. The suspects fled after the incident.
