SAN Isidro, Nueva Ecija -- A local branch of a famous drug store chain was robbed of about P300,000 in cash and other assorted items by unidentified intruders here last Tuesday.

Town police commander Supt. Steven O. dela Cruz said the heist was discovered when the South Star Drug store located along the Gapan-Olongapo Road in Bgy. Poblacion, this town, opened at 6:30 a.m.

SSD district supervisor Julieta Sta. Ana, 41, reported the incident to the police after her co-worker, identified as Milleth Cruz, 36, of Bgy. Poblacion, found out that the store’s backdoor was forcibly opened when she reported for work.

Upon inventory, Dela Cruz said found stolen and believed carted away by the robbers were some assorted items, including the one-week sales of the store amounting to about P300,000.

Investigation showed the suspects entered by destroying the roof and ceiling of the store and dismantled the backdoor padlock before fleeing.

Dela Cruz said members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives processed the area while follow-up operations are now being conducted for possible identification and arrest of the suspects and recovery of the loot.
