A department head was killed while his driver was wounded when the vehicle they were riding was peppered with bullets by two unidentified gunmen on board another car in Cardama Circle, Bgy. Loma, Biñan City, Laguna, Tuesday afternoon.
It was the second shooting incident in this city after the ambush of Gerardo Santos, General Services Office head of the Biñan City government.
Santos, police said, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body after being attacked by two gunmen. He died inside a silver Honda Civic (SFV 778) owned by the city government.
His driver-bodyguard, Rizalito Faraon, sustained minor injuries from the broken side mirror.
Police said Faraon drew his service firearm and fired back, hitting one of the suspects on board a sedan with no license plates. The suspects immediately fled.
“May indikasyon na tinamaan din ang isa sa mga suspek nang gumanti ng putok si Faraon dahil sa bakas ng dugo sa lugar,” police said.
