Cavite cops collar 20 drug offenders

TWENTY drug personalities in Cavite were rounded up by local police in a series of anti-narcotics operations this week, Cavite Police Provincial Office director Senior Supt. Arthur V. Bisnar reported yesterday.

Three of the suspects, identified as Dennis Fuentes, alias ‘Kwatog,’ 37; Aldrin Aquino, 41; and Crisitna Amasa, 38, were arrested while sniffing shabu at 22-A Bgy. Talaba 5, Bacoor City, at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Bisnar said local barangay officials, led by Isagani Reformardo, turned over the three to the local police along with a plastic sachet containing shabu residue and assorted drug paraphernalia.
   
Two other suspects, Alfredo Taruc, 40, described as the 52nd most wanted drug personality in Bacoor City residing on Queens Mary St., BF Topman Subd., Bgy. Molino 2; and Edgardo Martinez, 23, of SBUC Compound, Bgy. Molino 6, were arrested past 5 p.m. during a sting conducted by the police.
   
Recovered from the suspects were a gram of shabu and three marked P100 bills handed to them by the undercover agent in exchange for the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine.
   
Also in Bacoor City, police arrested Maryann Lauson, 35, of Sitio Ifugao, Bgy. Molino 2, after she sold P300 worth of shabu to a poseur in her neighborhood.
   
In Bgy. Talaba 6, barangay officials also turned over to the police Jimmar Sayson, 33, a driver who created trouble in their neighborhood and was found in possession of a plastic packet containing dried marijuana leaves.
   
Eight other suspects -- Bernardo Madlangbayan, 46, of Bgy. Pasong Camachile 1 in General Trias City; and his neighbors  Marneli Batuhan, 36, Rolando Madlangbayan, 57, Jay-Ar Corido, 31, Ernesto Madlangbayan, 22, Harriz Madlangbayan, 25, Darwin Herrera, 18, and a 15-year-old out-of-school youth --  were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the local police.            Seized from the suspects, led by Bernardo who is included in the local police drug watchlist, were around a gram of shabu, various drug paraphernalia and three marked P100 bills paid to the latter by the poseur.
   
Another buy-bust operation in Bgy. Palico 1, Imus City, led to the arrest of Wilfredo Paredes, 50, who yielded several plastic sachets containing P6,000 worth of shabu, drug paraphernalia and the marked money paid to him by an undercover officer.
   
In Cavite City, police arrested Felizardo Maddin, 57, during a buy-bust operation in Bgy. 62-A, Samonte Park, at 6 p.m. Thursday. The suspect, who is also on the wanted list of drug traffickers in the city, yielded a packet of shabu and the marked money.
   
In Silang municipality, police arrested Macario Gabriel Jr., 25, of Block 5, Lot 7, Bgy. Narra 2, after he sold a packet of shabu to a poseur 9 p.m. Two marked P100 bills were also recovered from the suspect’s possession.
   
In General Mariano Alvarez town, police arrested Alejandro Barbon, 38, jeepney barker, who recently surrendered to Oplan: Tokhang authorities after he sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur in Bgy. Tirona 11 p.m. Thursday.
   
In Tanza, police arrested Steward Santiago, alias ‘Wawat,’ 39, a van driver from Santol St., Glowing Field Subd., Bgy. Sahud Ulan, after he sold some P10,000 worth of shabu to a poseur inside his white Nissan Urvan (PKI-115).
   
The suspect also yielded another plastic sachet containing 30 grams of shabu worth P150,000 and a packet of dried marijuana leaves  when frisked. His van was also impounded.
   
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Bisnar.
