TWO armed drug traffickers were killed by agents of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office in separate anti-narcotics operations in San Ildefonso and Santa Maria towns on Thursday, local police director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., said

The official identified the slain suspects as Rafael Reyes, alias ‘Bungo,’ 44, a resident of Bgy. Dulong Malabon in Pulilan; and Ramil Montaos, 33, a resident of Santa Maria municipality, who yielded to local policemen implementing the PNP Oplan: Tokhang.

Caramat said members of the San Ildefonso Municipal Police Station, under Supt. Isagani Enriquez, were forced to shoot Reyes when he sensed an ongoing entrapment operation and began firing at the undercover officer in Bgy. San Juan at around 3 a.m. Thursday.

Recovered from the slain suspect’s possession were a caliber .38 Smith & Wesson revolver without serial number and containing three live ammunition and two spent cartridges and four plastic sachets of shabu.

In Santa Maria town, local policemen shot and killed Montaos during a shootout in Bgy. Lalakhan past 7 p.m. Thursday, said Caramat. A loaded cal. .38 revolver and six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ were recovered from the slain suspect, the Bulacan police director said.
