Geronimo took a leave of absence from showbiz for a couple of months, but she now returns to work. “I’m glad binigyan ako ni Boss Vic (del Rosario) ng free time and I really made the most out of it,” she says. “I’m thankful pinayagan nila akong magbakasyon. Nakatulong ‘yun to end all my fears and hesitations, to fight some negative thoughts na hanggang dito na lang ako at di ko na kaya ito. I realized I don’t have to please everyone since I don’t work to please other people. Dumarating kasi ‘yung point na you question, ano ba ang purpose mo in life? Masaya ka pa ba sa pinasok mo? Now, I just know my main aim should be to share with others the talent that God gave me. Now, I just hope to develop more as an artist and as a person. I hope to record more original songs and perhaps even write my own songs. My goal is personal growth and I know it’s a process, so unti-unti, dahan-dahan lang.”
She also wants to be of better help to other people in need. “I want to pay it forward. When we went mountain climbing (with boyfriend Mateo Guidicelli), I met marginalized ethnic people, mga native na nakatira sa kabundukan, and I want to help them. Kailangan, kahit gaano ka-busy ang schedule mo, you should find time para makatulong sa iba. Helping out brings personal fulfillment, so I want to be more of a blessing to other people.”
After refusing to do a movie project and a TV show, Sarah is now fully recharged and invigorated so watch out for her next projects as she becomes active again both as a singer and as an actress.
DAUGHTER BELIEVES BEING GAY IS JUST WORK FOR PAOLO
AFTER his suspension from “Eat Bulaga” for five months, everything is now coming up roses for Paolo Ballesteros. His new movie, “Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo, May Boyfriend?”, is about to be shown on October 19, and his other completed movie, “Die Beautiful”, will be competing at the 29th Tokyo International Filmfest from October 25 to November 3. We saw the trailer of his entry and he looks ravishing in the scenes where he is cross-dressing and with full make up. Will he be attending the filmfest?
“Pinayagan naman ako ng ‘Eat Bulaga’,” he says. “But I really had second thoughts kasi kababalik ko pa lang sa show after my suspension. But then, it’s a chance of a lifetime to attend an international filmfest like this and my director, Jun Lana, said lalakad daw ako sa red carpet, so kailangang ma-experience ko ‘yun, di ba?”
Jun Lana is also his director in “Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo, May Boyfriend?” whose trailer came out simultaneously with “Die Beautiful”. “I’m really thankful to be given a chance to work with him in two movies kasi napakagaling niya. Sana parehong maging successful ang mga pelikulang pinaghirapan namin.”
So, how is it working with Anne Curtis and Dennis Trillo in “Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo, May Boyfriend?” “Masaya kami lagi sa set. Si Anne first time ko talaga nakatrabaho, pero si Dennis, nagkasama na kami sa isang soap sa GMA-7, yung ‘Zaido’, so we know each other na. Noong una, medyo ilag pa ako kay Anne kasi big star siya, but she turned out to be okay, laging may dalang pagkain sa set so kapag pumasok ako sa tent niya, ang lagi kong itinatanong: anong baon mo ngayon?”
Doesn’t he fear that he’ll be typecast in gay roles? “Okay lang. Dahil nga sa mga tsismis sa’kin kaya ayan, may movie ako, hindi lang isa kundi dalawa pa. So carry lang naman.”
Anne and Dennis have a kissing scene in their movie. How about him and Dennis? Would he agree to having a kissing scene with Dennis? “Why not? Kung sa ikagaganda ba ng movie, okay lang, no problem.”
What about his daughter? Isn’t he afraid of what might she say when she sees him wearing women’s outfits? “Okay lang ‘yun. She knows I’m just playing a role. Sinusuot pa nga niya ang wigs ko, ‘yung high heels ko, at nakiki-make up din siya, so it’s fine with her. Alam niya, part lang ng work ko ‘yun.”
MARK NOT READY TO BE AN ORPHAN
MARK Herras just posted on his social account some happy photos with his inamorata, Winwyn Marquez, when they had a vacation in Cebu last week. But soon after their return, his adoptive father, Hermie Santos, passed away. In his subsequent posts, Mark indicated how much he grieves over the death of his dad who he calls Papapim, which comes close to the death of his mom also, earlier this year.
This is what he wrote: “Hindi ako handa. Bigla ka na lang nang-iwan. Ikaw ang nagtuturo sa akin nung nag-aaral pa ako, ang pumapalo sa akin kapag matigas ang ulo ko. Inalagaan nyo ako for 29 years. I will miss you everyday! Maraming salamat po sa lahat.”
It helps that Winwyn is beside him as he mourns, but Winwyn herself is going through something, what with her Kuya Mark Anthony Fernandez arrested for marijuana possession and is now in jail.
This is what Winwyn posted for Mark in her own account: “You have me and I have you. We’ll take care for each other. Sa isa’t isa lang tayo humuhugot ng lakas ngayon. I know everything will be okay.”
But life goes on for Mark and he continues taping for his afternoon drama, “Sa Piling ni Nanay”, which has just been extended for three weeks as it’s a big hit with the viewers.
This week, Mark as Jonas tries to comfort Yasmien Kurdi as Ysabel and this makes Gabby Eigenmann as Benedict very jealous.
Jillian Ward as Katherine is so disappointed when she read the DNA test results and it showed that her real mom is the evil Katrina Halili as Scarlet. What she doesn’t know is that Katrina just tampered with the results and replaced it, but it’s really Yasmien who is her real biological mom. Meantime, Yasmien visits Nova Villa as Matilda who is in coma in the hospital. Nova is shown slowly regaining consciousness. Will she be able to tell the truth this time that Katrina really tried to kill her?
