Vendor held for marijuana

A 28-year-old vendor was nabbed by police authorities for possesion of several grams of suspected marijuana in a buy-bust operation in Riverside Subd., Barangay Balintawak, Lipa City, the other day.

Batangas police director Sr. Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag identified the suspect as Mark Dennis Matulac, alias Jumong, single and resident of Riverside Subd., Bgy. Balintawak.
Cabanag said at 8 a.m., elements of SAIDSOTG, led by Insp. Nestor Resma Balita, the conducted a buy-bust operation in Riverside Subd., Bgy. Balintawak, with coordination from PDEA-4A.
PO1 Joseph Onesto Mendoza Ledesma, who acted as poseur buyer, was able to arrest the suspect after buying from him one plastic bag containing dried seeds, leaves and stalks suspected to be marijuana.
During the arrest, PO1 Marc Caesar Lopez Magpantay confiscated  one colored olive green pouch from the suspect. Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain one small glass vial containing dried seeds and leaves suspected to be marijuana, one wooden pipe with burnt residue of suspected marijuana, one  circular plastic container with dried leaves, seeds and stalks suspected to be marijuana and the marked money.
The recovered pieces of evidence with estimated weight of 6.05 grams were sent to Batangas Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for examination while the suspect underwent drug test.
