A 46-year-old man was shot dead in front of his horrified family by men who barged into his rented room in Tondo, Manila, past midnight yesterday.

Dead from three gunshot wounds -- one in the head and two in the body -- was Joseph Javier Jr., alias ‘Negro,’ of  351 Zaragosa St., Tondo, Manila.  The two male suspects, who remain unidentified, escaped.

Investigation by PO3 Ryan Jay Balagtas of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Crimes Against Persons Investigation Section (CAPIS) said that the victim was watching television with his live-in partner and children when the suspects barged in at around 12:30 a.m., shot the victim several times and then rushed outside.

His partner, Arlene Salgado, and neighbors took the victim to the nearest hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
