AT least 400 families lost their homes while six were injured when fire razed a residential area in Port Area, Manila, the other night.
A probe by the Manila Fire Bureau said that about 200 homes were burned to the ground by the said fire that first hit the three-storey home of one Maritess Abanes on Atlanta Street at 8:35 p.m.
The fire was declared under control at 10:14 p.m. and was fully contained at 4:05 a.m.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the fire which quickly spread in the adjacent houses made of light materials.
Meanwhile, the six residents who reportedly sustained injuries remain unidentified.
