THE suspect nabbed by Hong Kong authorities last September 4 carrying 3.3 kilos of cocaine is not a Filipino.
This pronouncement came from the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) yesterday, as it cited information it gathered from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
In a press statement, the MIAA said it is also continuously searching for more information on the case, by coordinating with pertinent agencies that can help it with this effort.
The MIAA said that the information that the suspect is not a Filipino came after due verification with Hong Kong authorities by our Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong.
However, due to restrictions, the Philippine Consulate was not given access to the woman so her identity cannot be known.
Due to very limited information available, the MIAA and law enforcement agencies in NAIA cannot ascertain the claim that the woman indeed arrived in Hong Kong from Manila.
