A 37-year-old operations manager of Unified Transport Philippines Corporation, whose business is running a fleet of taxis, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant Tuesday afternoon in Caloocan City.
Alida Camacho, of 19-B Miracle St., Bgy. 153, Bagong Barrio, was walking along Caimito Street at around 5:15 p.m. on her way to a passenger bus terminal when a lone gunman, armed with unknown type of handgun, approached her from behind and shot her at close range in the head, killing her on the spot.
The suspect immediately escaped on board a waiting motorcycle driven by his cohort and sped towards Malabon City area. Probers said the killing was premeditated and well planned since the perpetrators knew the victim’s routine.
Caloocan police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ferdie del Rosario said investigators are eyeing personal grudge and work-related as possible motives behind the killing.
The victim’s live-in partner, Alfredo Sangalang, narrated to police that Camacho had received death threats from an unidentified suspect last July.
Police learned that someone was mad at Camacho over her strict implementation of company policies.
