THE Saudi Arabian King has issued an immediate order to release 100 million Saudi riyals to help thousands of Filipinos and other nationals stranded in the Kingdom.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has instructed Saudi authorities to use the amount to provide housing, food, sanitary and health services to stranded foreign workers.

Those who want to go back home will also be provided airline tickets and others who want to remain in the Kingdom will be provided assistance to search for new jobs and facilitate transfer of sponsorship.

Aside from these, the King has already ordered to waive the penalty for the foreign workers’ expired iqama or residence permit.
