Mandaue PNP nets 1,317 pushers, 230 users

THE Mandaue City police have strengthened its surveillance, monitoring and operations against personalities who are involved in the sale and use of illegal drugs to eradicate the illegal drugs problem in the city.

This resulted in a numerous surrenderees in different areas of Mandaue City: 230 pushers and 1,317 users turned themselves in to authorities under “Oplan Tokhang” since July.

According to newly-installed Mandaue City director Senior Supt. Roberto Alanas, with the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign, a total of six pushers were killed in shootouts with members of the PNP, who defended themselves and killed the suspects in the process.

Police also arrested 46 drug personalities -- 15 nabbed by Police Station 1, six by PS 2, three by PS 3, another three by PS 4, five by PS 5, four by PS 6 and 10 by headquarters.

Charges were filed against the suspects.
