Aquino swears in 69 police generals


SIXTY-NINE Philippine National Police generals led by Deputy Director General Arturo G. Cacdac Jr., the newly designated PNP deputy chief for administration, yesterday took their oath of office before President Benigno Aquino and PNP chief Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome in Malacañang.

Cacdac, a member of Philippine Military Academy Class 1978, was named the PNP’s number 2 man after the retirement last week of Deputy Director General Benjamin B. Belarmino of PMA Class 1977.

The others who were sworn into office by the Chief Executive are 13 Police Directors (2-Star) and 55 Chief Superintendents, a rank equivalent to a one-star general in the Armed Forces.

The 13 Directors are George Q. Piano, Rey L. Lanada, Rolando DR Anonuevo, Jaime D. Calungsud Jr., Felicisimo V. Khu Jr., Rommel DF Heredia, Victorino S. Panganiban Jr., Catalino S. Cuy, Samuel D. Pagdilao Jr., Ala LM Purisima, Ager P. Ontog Jr., Roque G. Ramirez and Samuel B. Diciano.

The 56 Chief Superintendents are Alex Paul I. Monteagudo, Samuel M. Yorddan, Elpidio Z. de Asis Jr., Tomas G. Rentoy III, Benito C. Estipona, Getulio P. Napenas, Angelito N. Pacia, Arnulfo DR Perez, Edgardo T. Ladao, Henry P. Losanes, Agrimero A. Cruz Jr., Danilo S. Constantino, Francisco R. Cristobal Jr., Jose Erwin T. Villacorte, Gil J. Hitosis, Cristino C. Campanilla, Melito M. Mabilin, Noel O. de los Reyes,

Rey L. Merecido, Alexander L. Roldan, Benjamin B. Magalong, Clarence V. Guinto, Lorlie N. Arroyo, Carmelo E. Valmoria, Ernesto A. Tesoro Jr., Catalino B. Rodriguez Jr., Roman A. Arroyo is the lone woman among the 55 Chief Superintendents. She is the director of the PNP Crime Laboratory.
