CJ, Aquino urged to bare all assets

AMID the heated exchange of words between Chief Justice Renato Corona and President Aquino III, the militant Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP) will stage a picket in front of the Supreme Court today to air the call for both officials to “disclose it all.”

“SALN is not enough! We demand the full disclosure of all bank records including dollar accounts by all government officials, not just Corona,” declared BMP president Leody de Guzman.

“If Noynoy and Corona are truly sincere in their calls for transparency and public accountability, we challenge them to disclose their bank records. Also, if genuine democracy exists in our country, the ‘people’s right to know’ should have primacy over the property rights’ of  individuals,” the BMP said.

In today’s picket, the protesters will carry placards that read: “DISCLOSE ALL”;“LAHAT! ‘Di lang si Corona!”; “LAHAT! Pati dollar accounts!” and “Lift the TRO.”

Last week, Corona dared Mr. Aquino to tell the public his real mental state by disclosing immediately his psychological record.

Corona also challenged the President to disclose his Statement of Assets, liabilities and Networth (SALN), saying "I'm done with my part (in disclosing my SALN), it's now your turn."

Aside from his mental record and SALN, Corona also urged Mr. Aquino to divulge and allow the public to see his bank and other financial records.
