PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III yesterday slammed the "squid tactic" of the camp of embattled Chief Justice Renato Corona even as he belied persistent speculations that Corona’s impeachment was triggered by the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Hacienda Luisita which is owned by the Aquino family .
The President urged Corona to answer the charges against him and not resort to what he branded as "squid tactic".
Aquino said.
He also is confident that the House prosecution panel will eventually shine in the succeeding hearings of the impeachment case, pointing out that they have produced the vital documents and witnesses to bolster the case against Corona.
So mas magpapakita pa ng gilas ang ating panel," Aquino told reporters after the ceremonial switch-on of the household electrification program through renewable energy of the Department of Energy.
The President also denied giving instructions to certain senator-judges to come to the rescue of the prosecutors. This is amid the observation that Aquino's allies in the Senate, by way of their questioning of the witnesses, are helping the prosecution build its case against Corona.
