PANTABANGAN, Nueva Ecija – A police officer is now in hot water after he was accused of firing his gun and threatening three persons, including a couple, while he and his other companions were having drinks at a sari-sari store here.

PO3 Patrick Uera, 34, assigned with the local police and a resident of Bgy. Talabutab Sur, General Natividad, Nueva Ecija, was charged with attempted homicide and grave threats.

Luisito Santos, 41, a tricycle driver and Marlou Cabanlong, 40, a construction worker, both of Bgy. East Poblacion sought police’ help after they were allegedly harassed by the lawman.

The victims said they were inside the store preparing for the closing time when Uera and his companions, who were then drinking in front of their store, ordered more bottles of beer.

Reports said Uera got irked when Cabanlong’s live-in-partner, Nancy, replied that there were no beer to serve anymore.

The lawman allegedly started cursing them, prompting Santos to intervene and asked Uera to stop. A heated argument ensued until Uera allegedly drew his gun and fired at Santos but missed.

Uera allegedly threatened Marlou by saying: “May araw ka rin. Bukas ipapa-bulldozer ko ‘yang tindahan ninyo.” The lawman then hurriedly left.
