CIDG nabs 6 in stepped-up anti-crime campaign

SIX more wanted persons were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in separate anti-crime operations in the country last Thursday, PNP-CIDG director Chief Supt. Roel B. Obusan said yesterday.

One of the suspects, identified as Bonifacio Aquino, alias ‘Rodel,’ 30, laborer, wanted for attempted parricide, was arrested in Bgy. Poblacion in Catalina, Ilocos Sur, Thursday afternoon by members of the 1st Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit.
The suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Gina Juan-Chan of the Narvacan Regional Trial Court Branch 22.
In Cebu City, 7th RCIDU operatives arrested last Thursday suspected drug dealers Jason Clark Oracoy, Gregorio Canoy and Francis Caliñahan during separate  operations which led to the seizure of shabu, several drug paraphernalia and marked buy-bust money.
Oracoy and Canoy were arrested in Sitio Son-ok in Bgy. Lahug while Caliñahan was caught in Sitio Luoban, Bgy. Tejero. All three are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Bulacan, 3rd RCIDU officers arrested Ricardo and Elma Swan, both wanted for frustrated murder, during an operation in Bgy. San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal.
All six suspects are now under CIDG custody pending the release of their commitment order, said Obusan.
