SAN BEDA carved out a 4-1 win over titleholder CSB-La Salle Greenhills to capture the first round pennant in the NCAA juniors football yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Junior Red Booters finished on top of the table with 16 points and got some sort of revenge from their last season’s Finals loss to the Greenies.

San Beda’s victory duplicated its seniors counterparts, which also topped the single-round eliminations on Friday.

CSB-LSGH wound up with 13 points to level with Arellano University, a 7-0 winner over Lyceum of the Philippines University, but the Mandaluyong-based booters had a superior goal difference to place second.

In the other match, Letran drubbed Emilio Aguinaldo College, 8-1, to end up in fourth place with 10 points.
The Brigadiers and the Knights stayed at four and three points in fifth and sixth, respectively.  Idle University of Perpetual Help System Dalta ended up in seventh spot with a point to show.
