A 16-year-old out-of-school-youth allegedly involved in a rumble with a rival youth gang was shot dead by a lone assailant Sunday night in Caloocan City.
Caloocan police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ferdie del Rosario said Kevin Ando of 416 Camia St., Bgy. 185, Camarin, was rushed by his relatives to Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to a single bullet wound in the body.
PO3 Alden Dominguez, desk officer of Caloocan Police Community Precincnt (PCP) 4, said the victim was standing in front of Pabahay Ancop, on Camia St., Purok 1, Bgy. 185, when the still unidentified young suspect appeared from behind and shot him once.
Dominguez said the killing was not drug-related since the victim’s name was not on a drug watchlist of the police and the barangay.
Investigators are looking into a possibility that a conflict between rival gangs was the motive behind the killing.
