A GUN attack, said to have been triggered by a family feud or ‘Rido,’ left two people dead and five others wounded last Friday in Banisilan, Cotabato, a Philippine National Police report said yesterday.
Initial reports from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police Office identified the slain victims as former barangay councilman Lumayon Aluyudan and Alinor Mantikayan.
Wounded in the ambush were Panamtaon Mantikayan, the chairman of Bgy. Busaon, Banisilan; Buduh Makaalaw, Maysara Tikuumi, Momoy Saligan and one Mohaimin.
The victims were riding a multicab and a motorcycle on their way to the provincial capitol in Kidapawan City when they came under heavy fire from the suspects. The assassins fled after sensing the arrival of soldiers.
An investigation into the incident is now underway even as security troops rushed to the site to prevent possible retaliatory attacks from relatives of the victims.
