A housewife, who was about to visit her husband in jail, was nabbed while trying to smuggle shabu into the police detention cell Friday afternoon in Malabon City.
Raquel Pablo Rivera, 42, of North St., Manila North Cemetery, Bgy.y 376, District 3, Sta. Cruz, Manila, was on her way to visit her husband Nelson, who was jailed for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 when she was arrested by duty jailer PO3 Rodolfo Alvarez.
The suspect, according to PO3 Rommel Abarro of Station Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Group (SAID-SOTG), arrived at the police station at 5:30 p.m. when she was ordered by Alvarez to single out all the contents of the plastic bag she was carrying as part of standard operating procedure.
When Rivera poured out the contents of the plastic bag, a transparent plastic sachet containing undetermined quantity of shabu fell on the floor, prompting Alvarez to place her under arrest.
The drug evidence was submitted to Northern Police District Crime Laboratory Office (NPD-CLO) for lab examination while Rivera was turned over to the office of SAID-SOTG for further investigation.
