Murder suspect falls

CAMP Gen. Malvar, Batangas -- A 52-year-old laborer, who murdered a man, was collared by authorities after 11 years of hiding in Bgy. 17, Poblacion, Batangas City, on Tuesday.

Batangas police director Senior Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag identified the suspect as Efren Roallos Perez,  married, worker, of Bgy. Balagtasin 2nd, San Jose town.
   
Cabanag said Perez was arrested by elements of Batangas City Police Station, led by SPO2 Tadeo Loyola de Chavez, in Bgy. 17, Poblacion, Batangas City, by virtue of a warrant for murder issued by Judge Mario V. Lopez, of RTC Branch 2, with no bail recommended.
   
He said that on April 8, 2005, at 10:15 p.m. in Bgy. Balagtasin 2nd, San Jose town, the accused shot the victim in the head that caused his instantaneous death.
   
The suspect was detained at the custodial facility.
