Bulacan cops gun down 6 drug dealers in firefights

SIX armed suspected drug dealers were killed in gunbattles with members of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office over the past three days, local police director, Senior Superintendent Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said yesterday.

Two of the suspects identified as Roy Ramos  alias ‘Taroy/Tarugo,’ 37, listed as the no. 1 street-level drug dealer in Plaridel and his live-in partner Rose Ramos alias ‘Rarat,’ 21, both residents of Lumang Bayan in Plaridel fought it out with officers from the local police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group after sensing the entrapment operation at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, said Caramat.
According to Pulilan Municipal Police Station chief, Supt. Satur Ediong, the two were on board a black Mitsubishi Lancer EX GT-A without plate number when they sensed the sting and pulled out concealed weapons and fired at the unmarked car of the officers.
Police returned fire killing the two suspects on the spot. Caramat said recovered from the suspects were one Armscor caliber 40 high-capacity pistol with serial no. 1233157, four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and their sedan with conduction sticker BO 0583.
The bodies of the two were brought to a local funeral parlor for autopsy. A Bulacan police report described Ramos as allegedly a brother of former Plaridel Mayor Tessie Vistan and uncle of incumbent Mayor Jocell Aimee R. Vistan-Casaje. The report is yet to be confirmed as of press time.
In Malolos City, local policemen under Supt. Heryl Bruno shot and killed suspect Darwin Sulit, a known drug personality, during a firefight along McArthur Highway in Bgy. Bulihan past 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Caramat said that the suspect, a resident of Bgy. Pinagbakahan, had just sold a packet of shabu to a poseur when he sensed the sting and tried to put up an armed fight until he was killed. Recovered from the slain suspect’s possession were one improvised gun loaded with a 5.56mm ammunition, six sachets of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked money he received from the undercover officer.
In Meycauayan City, local police operatives under Supt. Lailene Amparo gunned down armed drug suspect Frederick Guevarra, 44, during a buy-bust operation along Estanio Street in Bgy. Bancal at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Amparo said that after handing the drugs to an undercover officer, the suspect ran after sensing he was to be arrested. He later pulled out a concealed weapon and started firing at the officers who were forced to retaliate. The suspect yielded a cal. .45 pistol with a defaced serial number, several live ammunition and 17 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
Also found at the scene of the operation were several drug paraphernalia.
In Sta. Maria municipality, police shot and killed Virgilio Maliclic, a 46-year old part-time electrician during an encounter  in Bgy. Casio around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Seized from the slain suspect’s possession were a loaded cal. .38 revolver, five sachets of shabu and a marked P500 bill he received from the poseur.
In Obando, local policemen under Chief Inspector Arnulfo Tangol gunned down pedicab driver-cum-drug dealer Emil Montoya, 33, during a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Pag-asa at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday.
Caramat said the suspect exchanged fire with officers about to arrest him after he sold a packet of shabu to a poseur. The slain suspect yielded a cal. .38 revolver with four live ammunition and one spent cartridge in its cylinder, two plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves, a sachet of shabu and a marked P500 bill.
