Fisher found floating dead in Taal Lake

A 35-year-old fisherman was found floating dead by a fellow fisherman in Taal Lake in Bgy. Saimsim, Sta. Teresita, Batangas, last Sunday night. 

Police identified the fatality as Edwin Cacao Terible, married, of Bgy. Balete, San Nicolas, Batangas.
The victim’s body was already in a state of decomposition when found floating in the lake.
Investigator PO3 Mafriel B. Magpantay lead a team to the crime scene.
Magpantay quoted the cousin of the victim, identified as Poepetacio Morfa Cacao as saying that the victim went  fishing in Taal Lake on board his motorized boat at 7 a.m. on Nov. 25.
A certain Ariel Mendoza, a resident of Bgy. Saimsim, later saw the victim’s boat unattended with its engine running in the lake.
Mendoza immediately informed the victim’s relatives about what he saw.
A search and rescue team was dispatched by the Coast Guard of San Nicolas.
The rescue team combed the lake but failed to find the victim until his body was found floating at 6:30 p.m.  the next day.
The victim’s body was brought to De Guia Funeral Homes in Lemery for autopsy.
