TWO men, including a barangay tanod, were shot dead by riding-in-tandem alleged members of the so-called Deadly Death Squad (DDS) in separate shooting incident yesterday in Pateros and Pasay City.

Killed were Tirso Ibanez, 40, alias Tisoy, of 522 Armada St., Sto. Rosario, Kanluran, Pateros; and Harry Patakaran, 27, of Bgy. 76, Zone 10, Pasay City.
Police said Ibanez was shot dead by four unidentified men riding two motorcycles at 2:30 a.m. near his house.
Witnesses told police that prior to the shooting incident, the suspects, who were wearing bonnets, accosted Ibanez before pulling out their guns and shot the victim successively for still unclear reason.
Police said the suspects sped away when Ibanez fell dead on the ground.
In Pasay City, Patakaran was riding his motorcycle when the gunmen waylaid him at 10 p.m. just meters away from his house.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at San Juan de Dios Hospital due to four gunshot wounds in the body.
Relatives of the victim told police that they are not aware of anybody who wanted Patakaran dead nor even have a known enemy.
Police declined to say whether the killings is drug related, saying investigations on the two shooting incidents are still ongoing.
