THE last Sunday of the month-long Bar exams yesterday was marked by a fiesta atmosphere as well-wishers and supporters of the examinees carried out various forms of revelry at the vicinity of the
University of Sto. Tomas in Sampaloc, Manila, the site of the said exams.
Placard-bearing students trooped to the area to express support for their schoolmates, with some parents even joining in.
Police said the exams held for four Sundays were generally peaceful amid stringent measures implemented to ensure the safety of the examinees.
It will be recalled that the Bar exams venue had been transferred to the UST following a bomb incident that took place in the former venue, at the De La Salle University on Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila.
Parking had been prohibited in certain areas within the UST vicinity and a traffic rerouting scheme was also put in place.
Some 7,000 law graduates took the exams which began November 6. The results will be released by the Supreme Court (SC) next year.
Last year, only 1,731 or 26 percent of the examinees passed.
