ANOTHER detainee died at the detention cell of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 9 in Malate, Manila.

Supt. Romeo Odrada, station commander of the said station, identified the detainee as Christopher Antonio, 40, of 1242 Rosarito St., Sampaloc, Manila.
A probe by PO2 Richard Escarlan of the MPD-Homicide Section said the detainees were being counted by PO3 Virgilio Ninon Jr. at 9:10 a.m. when prisoner Don Mariano Jumuad said Antonio could not stand up since he was feeling very weak.
Ninon reportedly learned that the victim was having diarrhea and had him brought to the nearest hospital so he can be given medication. However, he was declared dead on arrival due to dehydration.
It was learned that Antonio had been detained there for the past three weeks after he was arrested for theft and snatching by the police last October 5, 2016 on Madre Ignacia Street corner President Quirino Avenue in Malate.
