ASG with P600K bounty nabbed by CIDG

ELEMENTS of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested a member of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) who carried P600,000 bounty on his head during their operation the other day in Maluso, Basilan.

The suspect was identified as Ibrahim Akbar, alias Ustadz Atti Lintongan or Ustadz Atti, Ustadz Namir.
   
The suspect was arrested at around 1:40 a.m. in gy. Townsite, Maluso, Basilan.
   
Accordingly, the ASG member was arrested based on warrant of arrest issued by a court for multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder.
   
Record showed that  Akbar was involved in the 2006 bombing incident in Kidapawan.
   
CIDG Region 9 office-in-charge Senior Supt. Anthony Aberin said Akbar was also involved in the abduction of Father Blanco in 1993.
   
The suspect carried P600,000 monetary reward from the Departments of National Defense (DND) and Interior and Local Government (DILG).
