A STILL unidentified armed motorcycle-riding man was killed in an encounter with police in Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan early morning yesterday, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Senior Superintendent Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said.

Caramat said the suspect armed with a caliber .38 revolver exchanged fire with policemen about to accost him in Barangay Camachile around 2:30 a.m. yesterday and was killed in the process. No one was hurt on the side of the police.
Doña Remedios Trinidad Municipal Police Station commander, Chief Inspector Isagani Santos said the firefight took place shortly after they received an information about the presence of a suspicious-looking man roaming in Bgy. Camachile on board a white motorcycle.
The official said that when officers who rushed to the scene accosted the motorcycle rider, he immediately fled sparking a chase. While about to be cornered, the suspect fired shots at the lawmen who returned fire killing him on the spot.
Apart from the loaded revolver, police also found two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu in one of the suspect’s pockets. His motorcycle was impounded by the police.
Meanwhile, eight men including three wanted drug personalities in Bulacan were arrested by combined agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the BPPO while engaged in a shabu session inside a suspected drug den in Plaridel town last Monday, a report to PNP-CIDG director, Chief Superintendent Roel B. Obusan said yesterday.
