Capiz ABC head, 2 other bgy execs held for drugs

NINE suspected drug personalities including three elected barangay officials were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during separate anti-narcotics operations in the countryside this week, PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña reported yesterday.

One of the arrested suspects was Elmor Boluso, 54-year-old chairman of Barangay Poblacion Sur in Ivisan, Capiz and also the concurrent president of the Association of Barangay Chairmen  in Capiz.
Boluso was arrested after he sold some P25,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer of the PDEA Regional Office 6 just outside his house last Tuesday.
Another operation  in Dolores, Abra resulted in the arrest of Leonardo Advincula, 45,  chairman of Bgy. Lublubba  during a raid in his residence.
Lapeña said that members of the PDEA Cordillera region and the Philippine National Police raided the residence of Lublubba on the strength of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by a local court last Monday.
The village chief was arrested after officers found nearly a gram of shabu and two aluminum foils inside the former’s house.
In Caraga region, PDEA Region 13 agents arrested  Roberto Cain Iturrions alias ‘Kunga,’ a ‘kagawad’ of Bgy. Magsaysay in Mainit, Surigao City and his cohorts Prolyn June Dato-on, 22; and John Carlo Sepe, 25, after they conspired to sell shabu to a poseur last Tuesday in Purok 5, Bgy. San Juan.
Confiscated from the suspects were about one gram of shabu, the marked money paid to them by the undercover officer and assorted drug paraphernalia.
In Koronadal City in South Cotabato, PDEA Region 12 officers arrested Chairon Rosal, 25, a welder/tricycle driver after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur in Saint Gabriel, Bgy. Zone 3 last Tuesday evening. The suspect also yielded the marked money and a mobile phone he used to make the drug transaction.
Last Wednesday, PDEA Cordillera region personnel arrested Ernest John del Rosario, 32, a suspected member of the Sadeek Drug Group operating in the region during an entrapment operation in Lourdes Subdivision Proper. The suspect yielded three sachets of shabu and the marked money he received from the PDEA agent. His Mitsubishi Adventure with plate no. AYT-513 was also impounded by the PDEA.
In Ilocos Sur, combined PDEA Region 1 and police operatives arrested Wilson Salingbay, 44; and Leo Tel-e, 32, both residents of Banayoyo during an entrapment operation. Seized from the suspects were one heat-sealed plastic sachet with shabu, the marked money and the tricycle they used to deliver the drugs to the poseur.
On the same day, PDEA Region 1 agents arrested Gerry del Rosario, 37, an Oplan: Tokhang surrenderee after he sold a packet of shabu to an undercover officer in Zone 5,  Pinmaludpod, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
Del Rosario yielded assorted drug paraphernalia and the mobile phone he used during the transaction when frisked.
In General Santos City, PDEA Region 12 agents arrested 61-year-old widower Eduardo Robledo and his son Randy, 35, a beautician during a buy-bust operation that led to the dismantling of a drug den they were operating. Also arrested was Felicito Perez, 40, a driver from Zone 5, Bula, General Santos City.
Local PDEA operatives arrested the young Robledo after he sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover agent in Bgy. Dadiangas West past 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers later raided the Robledo’s residence where they recovered assorted drug paraphernalia and a sachet of shabu and arrested Robledo’s father, the one said to be operating the clandestine drug dive and Perez.
All suspects are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
