Bgy kagawad, 2 others nabbed for shabu in Cavite, Laguna, Pangasinan

THREE persons, including a village councilman, were arrested in anti-illegal drug operation the other day in Cavite, Laguna, Pangasinan and Ilocos Sur.

Arrested were Arnel Golfo, 49, barangay kawad, and Rosemarie Salonga, 47, both residents of Poblacion 1, General Aguinaldo, Cavite.

Initial investigation showed that the operation was based on a search warrant issued by Sta. Cruz Laguna Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 27.
   
Recovered from the suspects were two sachets of suspected shabu, four unsealed sachets with residue of suspected shabu, four crumpled aluminum foil, an improvised tube pipe, 13 disposable lighters, one metal pencil case and two cellphones.
   
The pieces of evidence were brought to Cavite Crime Laboratory Office for  examination while the suspects were temporarily held at Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Custodial Center, the filing of charges against the suspects for violation of RA 9165.
   
In Laguna, a report to Senior Supt. Joel Pernito, acting provincial police director, by Chief Insp. Gerry S. Abalos, Famy police chief, said suspect Reynaldo Rodriguez, 29, alias Ronald Rodriguez, a vendor, was arrested during implementation of a search warrant in Bgy. Salang Bato, Famy.
   
Police seized from the suspect seven plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride worth P9,000, a plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves and a cal. .38 revolver with defaced serial number.
   
The suspect was detained at the municipal police station.
   
In another operation, a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was arrested during the implementation of a search warrant (SW) in Bgy. Taft, Pakil, Wednesday afternoon.
   
Insp. Juan Renzon Gonzales III, Pakil police chief, said the suspect, Jojit Anonuevo, 40, yielded a small plastic sachet of shabu and 16 open-end transparent plastic sachets placed in a perfume pouch.
   
The suspect was detained at Pakil Municipal Jail while the pieces of evidence were brought to PNP Crime Lab in Sta. Cruz.
   
Meanwhile, elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 (PDEA RO1) arrested drug suspects in two separate operations in Pangasinan and Ilocos Sur.
    
PDEA-1 Director Jeoffrey C. Tacio said Gerry del Rosario, 37, of Zone 5, Bgy. Pinmaludpod, was arrested in Urdaneta City.
    
The Pangasinan Special Enforcement Unit said Del Rosario yielded a plastic sachet of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia and a cellphone.
    
In Ilocos Sur, Wilson A. Salingbay, alias Willy, 44, and Leo B. Tel-e, 32, were arrested Wednesday afternoon near their residences in Banayoyo town.
 
Tacio said Salingbay and his group get their supply of shabu from as far as Manila. The illegal drugs are transported to Ilocos Sur and distributed in Candon City and nearby municipalities.
    
Tacio said the suspects were formally charged for  violation of Sections 5, 11 and 12  and possession of equipment, instrument, apparatus and other paraphernalia of RA 9165.
