Games today:

(Philsports Arena)

12:30 p.m. -- 100 Plus vs. IEM (Spikers’ Turf)

4 p.m. -- Laoag vs. PAF (V-League)

6 p.m. -- BaliPure vs. BOC (V-League)

ALYSSA Valdez will cross paths against her former Ateneo teammates as Bureau of Customs and BaliPure collide today in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference at the Philsports Arena.

The Transformers eye to stretch their winning run to three in the 4 p.m. clash with a Water Defenders side trying to move on from the loss of their main offensive weapons, which included  Valdez.

Even with the sidelining of Thai imports Kanjana Kuthaisong and Natthanicha Jaisaen, Customs seized two straight victories, including a thrilling 18-25, 27-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-9 win over Laoag that saw Valdez fire a league record 39-hit feat.

BaliPure, on the other hand, dropped  a 25-21, 21-25, 23-25, 13-25 decision to a streaking University of Santo Tomas side.

With Kuthaisong and Jaisaen already secured their International Transfer Certificates and were cleared to play, as well as Pau Soriano and Lillet Mabbayad, the Transformers are now stronger and tougher.

The Water Defenders actually boasts of talented imports with Kate Morrell and fellow American Kaylee Manns.

But BaliPure is looking for the needed production from its stalwarts led by Dzi Gervacio and Amy Ahomiro, as it sorely missed Valdez, as well as Grethcel Soltones and Janine Marciano, who also moved to other teams.

The Power Smashers and Air Force, tied with idle Pocari Sweat at 1-1, tangle at 4 p.m. with solo third at stake.

Laoag tore Philippine Coast Guard to bits in the opener but fell to Customs, as coach Nes Pamilar is trying to deal with chemistry issues as well as the availability of his players.

With the UAAP beach volleyball tournament done, expect Jema Galanza and Aiko Urdas to suit up for the Power Smashers to support Soltones and Jovie Prado.

After losing to the Tigresses in their conference opener, the Jet Spikers shot down the Lady Warriors in a rematch of their Open Conference duel last week to prove that they can contend.

In the Spikers’ Turf, Instituto Estetico Manila seeks a follow-up to its five-set reversal over Champion Supra as it clashes with winless 100 Plus at 12:30 p.m.
