A 31-year-old woman died while her companion was in critical condition after they were hit by a speeding passenger jeepney while crossing along the road Sunday night in Caloocan City.

Joebelle Apruebo, of Amparo Subd., Caloocan City, died on the spot while his companion, Mely Serrano, 55, was rushed to Tala Hospital for treatment of body injuries.
 
Caloocan police chief Senior Supt. Johnson Almazan said the victims were crossing along Quirino Highway, Bankers Village, Bgy. 184, at 10:40 p.m. when they were hit by a southbound passenger jeepney (PXV-705) being driven by Randy Ramos, 42, of Zone 2, Bgy. Graceville, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
    
Reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injury raps will be filed by police against Ramos.
