SAN FERNANDO City, La Union -- A 12-hour power interruption on Wednesday in the province of Cagayan and some parts of Isabela, Apayao and Kalinga was announced yesterday.
According to Lilibeth Gaydowen, North Luzon Corp. Comm & Public Affairs officer of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said the power interruption is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The affected distribution utilities are the entire KAELCO (Kalinga-Apayao Electric Cooperative, Inc.), entire CAGELCO I (Cagayan Elecric Cooperative, Inc.) franchise area, entire CAGELCO II franchise area, entire ISELCO II (Isabela Electric Cooperative, Inc.) franchise area, and ISELCO I-Reina Mercedes Substation.
Gaydowen said the interruption is due to the Annual Preventive Maintenance and Testing (APMT) of equipment at Gamu Substation, as well as preventive and corrective maintenance of transmission lines serving the electric cooperatives.
The NGCP customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary precautions and preparations for the scheduled power interruption.
